Our crafting/baking/relaxing weekend had been in the works for nearly a year. It began as a seed last December at our group’s 10th anniversary gathering.
A retreat at “the Christmas barn” – a rental home I had tucked (years earlier) into the pages of my art journal as a place to be visited someday.
My desire was to create a memorable weekend of crafting, soaking in the Christmas spirit, baking, and reflection.
My prayer was that God would weave a bit of magic into our time together. I wanted Him to be a part of what we were doing though I wasn’t sure how to make that happen in a way that honored each person no matter where they stood with their faith.
So I thought it best just to shower the ladies with love and trust God with the rest. Most of us arrived Thursday evening and after settling in with some good food and wine, a handful of us gathered for the first in a 4-part Intentional Christmas workshop. It was then that a longtime scrapbooking friend shared her newfound faith and its impact on her this holiday season.
And that’s when the magic truly began.
What an especially memorable weekend it turned out to be.
