When choosing a senior photo for your high school yearbook, be sure to check your school’s policy and requirements. Some schools in the area have turn-in deadlines as early as November 1st while others December 1st. Senior photos today look nothing like the senior photos of my day:
Most seniors today are free to choose their own photographers, outfits, and locations. Images today reflect personality and style like never before. [The snapshots captured above were taken from a Rosemount High School yearbook.] When choosing a senior photo for your high school yearbook, a few basic rules usually apply:
1. Choose a color photograph.
2. The image submitted must be a portrait (vertical layout).
3. Head and shoulder images are usually encouraged (as opposed to an full body shot because their face would be almost too small to see in the yearbook).
4. Make sure clothing and poses are in good taste or your photo likely will not be published in the yearbook.
